ECONYL® Yarn
ECONYL® yarn is a 100% regenerated nylon fibre made from nylon waste otherwise polluting the Earth, like fishing nets, fabric scraps, carpet flooring and industrial plastic rescued from all over the world.
- It's exactly the same as fossil-based nylon and has the potential to be recycled infinitely, without ever losing its quality.

REPREVE ®
REPREVE is the world’s number one brand of recycled performance fibre. Made from 100% recycled materials, including post-consumer plastic bottles and pre-consumer waste. REPREVE is certified and traceable.
- It conserves enough water to provide one person with more than the daily drinking water requirement.
- It conserves enough energy to light a compact fluorescent light bulb for nearly 22 days.
- It limits greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions while driving a hybrid car almost 3 miles.
Jute
Known as the ‘golden fibre’ jute is one of the longest and most used natural fibre.
- Jute is 100% bio-degradable and recyclable and thus environmentally friendly.
- A hectare of jute plants consumes about 15 tonnes of carbon dioxide and releases 11 tonnes of oxygen.
- Cultivating jute in crop rotations enriches the fertility of the soil for the next crop.

Hemp
The environmental ‘super fibre’, it is one of the most eco-friendly and sustainable materials.
- Hemp does not need any toxic chemicals such as fertilisers or pesticides to grow.
- It’s also very generouse to the soil it’s planted in, returning 60-70% of the nutrients it takes.
- It requires little water to grow and purifies the soil and its deep roots prevent erosion.
Linen
Linen is a natural fibre made using flax. linen is 100% biodegradable and recyclable. It is one of the toughest fabrics that we can sustainably make clothes from, and the more wears we can get from our clothes the more sustainably we are dressing.
- One hectare of flax can take 3.7 tonnes of CO2 out of the atmosphere.
- Growing flax and weaving it into linen is the least water and energy intensive part of linen clothing’s life cycle.
- Linen absorbs moisture without holding bacteria.
- Linen can last for 20 year’s worth of wear and tear without losing its comfort.
Cotton
Cotton is an all-natural fibre that grows well in several climates and can be harvested easily.
- Better than man-made synthetic fibres.
- Washable, breathable, absorbent and strong.
- It can be recycled and made into yarn or new garments.

Our Packaging
We are as vigilant about our packaging as we are about our garments themselves. We research and source the most sustainable materials we can find and we never use more than needed, especially when shipping.
Grass Mailers
Eco-friendly alternative to polythene mailing bags. Made from grass fibre, these paper mailing bags are fully recyclable and compostable. The grass is fast growing and from a renewable source. Grass paper mailing bags have the same life span as standard paper with significantly less water and energy needed in the process and no chemicals involved. The overall CO2 emissions are greatly reduced compared to standard paper
Tapioca Bags
Tapioca is a cassava starch, each of our swimwear pieces come in a flap and seal bag that’s 100% biodegradable, recyclable, and backyard compostable for health and safety reasons. Here today, gone within the month.
Kraft Paper Hygiene Stickers
Each swim bottom has been lined with a kraft paper hygiene sticker instead of plastic.
BukawaSwim Stickers
Printed on sugarcane paper using toxic free inks. Our sticker sheets are 100% biodegradable.
Cotton Pouches
Each of our clothing items have been pre-packed into cotton pouches for health and safety reasons.
Thank You Cards
Are printed using vegetable non-toxic inks on recycled FSC paper.
